The Company Eligibility guideline describes the criteria and attributes for a company need to fulfil to be eligible to submit a nomination to NBQSA Award competition.
The companies which are eligible to nominate their ICT applications and products must meet the following criteria:

The company must be legally registered in Sri Lanka.

The company can be a 100% local company, OR

A joint venture/partnership between a local company(ies) and a foreign company(ies). But the local shareholders must own at least 51% of the total shares. OR

A subsidiary company of a foreign company which is independent in its operations & management.

The followings are non-eligible for entry nomination:
A product, of which the main R&D and design efforts have been undertaken in another country or the local company being used for providing code-cutting outsourced services.

An entry which has won a Gold Award at NBQSA during one of the last three NBQSA competitions is not eligible as a new entry. If submitting after 3 years, substantial enhancements must have been made on the original winning entry for it to be considered eligible as a new entry.

Final decision on eligibility of any entry will be at the discretion of the NBQSA Judges advisory committee.

The product or application must meet the following criteria to be eligible to be entered into NBQSA competition:

The Intellectual Property Rights of the product or application must be with the company which is submitting the nomination. OR

if its Intellectual Property Rights is owned by the offshore parent of the local company then at least 51% of the development effort including research and development and design of the product or application, must have been undertaken by the Sri Lankan entity.

The product or application shall have been in use for at least six months (Excluding pilot run) at a customer site for it to be eligible to compete in categories other than R&D and Student. **
