ICT Entrepreneurship Award

This Award is presented to the most innovative nomination that utilizes complex process of examining large and varied data sets to uncover information including hidden patterns, unknown correlations, market trends and customer preferences that can help organizations make informed business decisions.

1. All applicants who are competing in NBQSA will automatically become eligible to compete in this special category.
2. Any ICT entrepreneur can be a direct candidate for this category of special award only if he or she holds a valid recommendation to compete under this category of awards form following organizations.
a. BCSSL
b. CSSL
c. SLASSCOM
d. FITIS
3. Willingness to submit financial statements as and when requested by the panel of Judges.
4. In the event of group of leaders competing for this category of awards all shall be directors of the organization and one nomination shall be submitted with consent of all others. However, the final decision of allowing such situations would remain with the Chairman of the Judging Advisory committee of The National ICT Awards – NBQSA.
5. Sufficient evidence supporting all the facts claimed by the candidate must be provided to prove and satisfy the panel of judges.
6. In the event of requesting further proof of documents by the NBQSA judging panel, the participant shall be obliged to provide such information even at a later stage of the competition.
7. NBQSA judging advisory committee reserves all the rights on selecting or not selecting an applicant for this award.
8. Candidates will be questioned about their business model and financial stability. All candidates must be well prepared with sufficient evidence to support what they are calming for.
9. Candidate must be an entrepreneur who has provided leadership to the organization for at least 6 Months and should have demonstrated outstanding entrepreneurial qualities in developing the business.
10. Candidate must own at least 20% of the company’s shares and shall be a Sri Lankan Citizen.
11. Candidate’s organization should have a minimum of 30% Local Equity and have an annual revenue of less than USD 1 Million. Should maintain an acceptable financial statement by an accounting professional (Chartered Accountant or Similar capacity).

Business ownerships (How Capital & Resource mobilization was done, handling of difficulties, Ethical Business Practices, Personal vision)

ICT Innovation & Technology by his/her companies (Application of Technology, Product Innovation, IP creation)

Development of Team composition – Execution – Implementation (Scalability of Operation of his companies, Team Composition, scalability, Empowerment, management style)

Investment Viability (Quality of Customer Base development, Current & potential Market Share, steps taken for development)

Unique Selling Proposition (Prior Awards received, Publications)
